I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
